We ordered the Spicy Juan and vegan rainbow and we really enjoyed both. It was art on a plate. The music was great and service was top notch. They have created a great atmosphere and I definitely recommend visiting when you’re in San Diego.

The food here is excellent, The mellow yellow is a go-to, I was suprised by the prices, they were fair for what we were getting. We also got the 5 piece nigiri for happy hour, it was amazing. The service is amazing, the waitresses are super fast. Our food came in around 5 minutes. The atmosphere is one of my favorite things, its beautiful. There is a fishtank, and the place gives off good vibes in general. 10/10 Would come again.

Harney sushi is my go to for sushi in San Diego. I stumbled upon this spot and have never looked back. The two rolls I order on repeat are the Sea Spider Roll and the Culichi-Wa roll. I typically order a rotating third roll as well to try out another specialty. The Sea Spider Roll lives in my dreams and I have to go back to experience it again every couple of months. The bass on top is extraordinary and the flavors of the roll are perfectly complimentary. This time it came served with flowers and flowers petals! The Culichi-wa roll is, as best as I can describe, sushi with a Mexican flare. Really different and really delicious. Super fresh. Harney is conveniently located walking distance from Old Town San Diego so if you go early enough you can stroll through old town and finish up the night with sushi! The restaurant is romantically lit with a live aquarium in the middle. Typical sushi bar seats as well as tables, most of which have at least one booth seat. I’ve sat in multiple places of the restaurant and haven’t chosen my favorite spot yet, but I do love to have a view of the aquarium. Literally the only knock on this place is parking, but if you’re okay walking for 5-10 minutes then this doesn’t matter at all.

I placed an order for sushi with a scheduled pickup time of 5:00 PM, yet I received a notification at 4:21 PM that it was ready. When I arrived at the restaurant, I found my order—three boxes of sushi—sitting in a paper bag on the hostess stand, completely unrefrigerated for over 25 minutes. This is an unacceptable lapse in food safety and customer service, especially for a $75 order. I expect far better handling of perishable food and a more professional approach to order management. It’s a shame too, the old owner was so much better.
